Barcelona really has a lot of impressive sights. And we can already tell you that you can't see them all during your 3-day city trip to Barcelona. We have already been to Barcelona ten times and there is still so much that we still want to see and discover in this special city on the Costa Brava. To help you on your way, we have listed the 10 most beautiful sights in Barcelona for you.

The Sagrada Familia, Barcelona's most famous landmark

The Sagrada Familia is perhaps Barcelona's most famous attraction. This cathedral designed by Antoni Gaudi is one of the most special cathedrals in the world, although this cathedral is still unfinished. Due to the untimely death of Antoni Gaudi, he was unfortunately never able to finish his own design. But in recent decades, the Sagrada Familia has been finished according to the design of this famous architect.

The Sagrada Familia is definitely an impressive building. You can spend hours looking at the facade of this cathedral and still discover new, special details. You do not have to visit the Sagrada Familia from the inside to see how impressive this cathedral is. Nevertheless, we also recommend that you visit this cathedral from the inside. The beautiful stained glass windows in the brightest colors make the light in the Sagrada Family unique. And inside you can also see the special use of the details. The Sagrada Familia is definitely a unique, one of a kind cathedral. You will not see a cathedral anywhere else in the world like the Sagrada Familia. The Sagrada Familia is definitely a must-see during your city trip to Barcelona.

Catedral de Barcelona, a special cathedral in Barcelona

El Catedral de Barcelona is located in the old Gothic quarter of Barcelona. It is probably not the first cathedral that comes to mind when planning your city trip to Barcelona and El Catedral de Barcelona does not have the special architecture that the Sagrada Familia does and yet El Catedral de Barcelona is on our list of places to visit you simply must visit when you are in Barcelona. At the time when Barcelona was still called Barcino, about 2,000 years ago, this cathedral was a Roman temple. Today, the full name of El Catedral de Barcelona is Catedral de la Santa Creu i Santa Eulàlia. The church is named after a girl who opposed the Roman emperor Diocletian who told her to distance herself from her Catholic faith.

For those who don't like churches and cathedrals, el Catedral de Barcelona is still worth a visit. El Catedral de Barcelona has another special attraction that you don't want to miss when you are in Barcelona. In this cathedral you can go to the roof of the cathedral, which gives you a particularly beautiful view of Barcelona.

El Catedral de Barcelona is therefore definitely worth a visit during your city trip to Barcelona.

Casa Batlló, the most colored facade in Barcelona

Casa Batlló is another unique building by the famous architect Antoni Gaudi. The facade of Casa Batlló is completely covered with colored glass shards, which makes this facade absolutely unique. If you visit Casa Batlló at different times of the day, you will see that the color of this building seems to change when the light changes. But the inside of Casa Batlló is also very special. There is in fact no straight wall in this building in Barcelona. Every space in Casa Batlló is special. One room has beautiful large stained glass windows, the other room is completely white with special arches and from the colorful roof terrace you have a nice view over Passeig de Gracia. Casa Batlló is in our opinion one of the most beautiful buildings designed by Antoni Gaudi and a Must Visit during your city trip to Barcelona.

Tibidabo, on the top of Barcelona

Tibidabo is a special combination of attractions in Barcelona. We think Tibidabo is especially a special place to visit during sunset. From Tibidabo you really have a spectacular view over Barcelona. But Tibidabo has much more than just a beautiful view. Here you will find the Temple Expiatori del Sagrat Cor, a special church with a large bronze statue of Jesus on the roof. You can take a lift to the roof for an even better view of Barcelona. And from the roof you suddenly see the amusement park, which you can also find on Tibidabo. This amusement park is a somewhat retro amusement park with some very nice attractions for young and old. It is mainly the combination of the location with the retro attractions that makes this amusement park so special. One of the attractions that immediately catches the eye when you go to Tibidabo is the large Ferris wheel. This colorful Ferris wheel from which you look out over Barcelona is really cool, but also a bit scary if you're not a fan of heights.

Park Güell, the most colorful park in Barcelona

Park Güell is again a design by the famous architect Antoni Gaudi. You can immediately see his style in Park Güell's design through the use of the colored mosaic glass shards and the special combinations of shapes and colors. One of the most famous landmarks of Barcelona can be found in Park Güell, namely the colored lizard completely covered in mosaic. Park Güell is difficult to describe, because it forms such a special whole. It's actually like walking through a fairytale when you walk through Park Güell in Barcelona. Park Güell has different parts. The most famous and most beautiful part of Park Güell can only be visited with entrance tickets. But there is also a part that runs around Park Güell which is free. This part is certainly also very special to see and when you walk up here, you also have a nice view over the paid part of Park Güell. Park Güell tickets sell out quickly, so buy your tickets in time when planning your city trip to Barcelona.

La Rambla, the most famous street of Barcelona

La Rambla is the most famous street in Barcelona. It is a pedestrian boulevard that runs from Plaça Cataluyna to Port Vell and is almost 1 kilometer long. It is especially the authentic stalls that you will find along this Rambla, which make La Rambla so much fun. In these authentic stalls you will find florists, sweets, souvenirs and ice cream. Due to the large hordes of tourists that walk here, especially during the summer months, it is sometimes difficult to really see the charm of La Rambla. We especially like to visit the side streets of La Rambla. In the various side streets of La Rambla you will find nice terraces, restaurants, shops and especially the historic Barcelona that you want to see during your city trip to this special city in Spain.

Parc de La Ciutadella, a moment of quiet in Barcelona

Parc de La Ciutadella is a very famous park in Barcelona. In Parc de La Ciutadella you will find a zoo, the regional parliament, but above all many places to just relax in the sun. The biggest attraction of Parc de La Ciutadella is the large water feature in the middle of this park. Cascade Monumental is a large waterfall with golden accents, which even a young Gaudi contributed to. This waterfall in Parc de La Ciutadella is already impressive from below, but you can also climb the royal steps of this Cascade Monumental and view this impressive waterfall from above. In Parc de La Ciutadella you will also find a nice and cozy lake. In this lake you can rent rowing boats for the romantic Barcelona feeling. You rent this rowing boat for about 45 minutes and this is really a moment of rest during your fully planned city trip to Barcelona.

In Parc de La Ciutadella you can really escape the bustle of the city of Barcelona, while you are really still in the middle of it.

Palau de la Musica Catalana, an underrated gem in Barcelona

Palau de La Música Catalana is a place where you go to enjoy music. But believe us, Palau de La Musica Catalana is absolutely a sight to behold. Palau de la Musica Catalana is not exactly a top attraction when you search for the most beautiful sights in Barcelona. But as far as we're concerned, Palau de la Musica Catalana is truly one of Barcelona's most underrated sights. Palau de la Musica Catalana was designed by the architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner and is particularly notable for the use of many colored stained glass windows and the mosaic-covered pillars on the outside. The absolute highlight of Palau de la Musica Catalana is the ceiling with a beautiful stained glass pattern. According to some, Palau de la Musica Catalana is even more beautiful than the Sagrada Familia.

Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, a historical hospital in Barcelona

Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau is another underrated landmark in our 10x must-see list in Barcelona. Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau is an old hospital which was also designed by Lluís Domènech i Montaner. Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau is completely built in the Catalan Art Nouveau style. Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau has impressive domes, beautiful stained glass windows and impressive pillars. The architect wanted to build a hospital that didn't feel like a hospital and he certainly succeeded. This hospital feels more like a royal palace than a hospital. We especially like the use of color with the pink domes and the colored windows on the inside.

Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau consists of a main building with several outbuildings, each with its own function. When you walk across the large courtyard of Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau you can see this collection of buildings and you can also see the special use of colors on the outside of these buildings with, for example, the colored roofs of this hospital.

Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau is definitely a nice place to visit during your city trip to Barcelona.
